31 Days to Success: Day 2 What Are You Willing to Do?

We have things in life we want, but we aren’t always willing to do what it takes to get them. Wishing and creating intentions (ala The Secret) are fine, but it takes action to make things happen. Further, usually it requires that we make sacrifices and step into the unknown. No where is this more true than in working at home.

Working at home is easier than ever, but it does require time and effort. Most people have little time and sometimes the effort seems futile. But if you want to work at home, you can’t expect to simply sign up for some do-nothing program or to have the perfect opportunity fall in your lap. Instead you need to be proactive.

On Day One you clarified what you wanted. Read your answers again and notice the emotions that thinking about your dream evoke. With that dream burning inside you, answer the following questions:

1) What are you willing to give up to make your dream come true? To find the time will you decrease your television viewing? Put off your hobbies until later? Give up some sleep to get up earlier or stay up later?

2) What are you willing to do? Are you willing to take a class or course to learn about working at home, marketing or a skill you can use to work at home? Are you willing to take a sales job? Are you willing to ask your boss if you can work at home? Are you willing to give up something fun to have the time to work on your goal?

Please note that I’m not saying you need to take a sales job or that working at home will be unpleasant. What I am saying is that you will need to give up something and be willing to step out of your comfort zone. No one who has achieved a great goal was ever handed their success. They had to sweat, and cry, and forge on when things got tough. Are you willing to do that?
