31 Days to Success Day 19: Work At Home Job Contracts
I once did some work for a company that didn’t pay me when the work was done. Its a hard lesson to learn about the importance of a contract.
Whether you telecommute for your current boss, or you get a work-at-home job from an online business, never start the work without having a contract. Particularly when working online, you don’t want to give your services away for free. Most employers are on the up and up, but to be sure, get a written contract or agreement that outlines:
1) The job description
2) Your payment and payment schedule. How will you be paid? Check? PayPal?
3) Hours and days you need to work (if its a set schedule).
4) Equipment required and who will be supplying it.
5) Anything else you or the employer deems important.
This should be signed by both you and the employer.
Protect yourself and your income by always getting the terms of your job in writing!
